The Volkswagen Sharan II (Typ 7N) premiered at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Constructed on the PQ46 architecture, it grew larger and more comfortable. Highlights included dual sliding rear doors with optional power operation and the EasyFold seating system that stowed rear rows flush into the floor without seat removal.

Powertrains encompassed 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engines alongside 2.0 TDI diesels (115–184 hp) paired with DSG gearboxes or 4Motion AWD.
