Volkswagen Phideon I (3E) gallery (2016–2023)

Executive full-size sedan Volkswagen Phideon built on the MLB Evo platform, successor to the Phaeton, produced from 2016 to 2023.

The Volkswagen Phideon (internal code 3E) premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016 and launched in China later that year. Developed jointly by SAIC-Volkswagen and Wolfsburg engineers as the brand's flagship saloon following Phaeton discontinuation, it is built on Audi's longitudinal MLB Evo platform. The Phideon measures 5,071 mm long with a 3,009 mm wheelbase.

Powerplants included a 2.0 TSI (224 hp) turbo-four and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 (300 hp) mated to a 7-speed DSG and 4Motion all-wheel drive, alongside a GTE plug-in hybrid. Luxury features comprised air suspension, soft-close doors, Dynaudio sound, and HUD. Production concluded in 2023.
