The ultimate supercharged generation of the rear-wheel-drive performance saloon based on the VF chassis.
The second iteration of the Vauxhall VXR8 arrived in 2013, built upon the thoroughly overhauled VF series architecture of the Australian HSV Gen-F range on GM's Zeta platform. The defining hallmark of this generation was the flagship GTS specification, which housed a 6.2-litre supercharged LSA V8 engine generating an immense 585 bhp and 740 Nm of torque, earning it the title of the most powerful road-going production vehicle to carry the Vauxhall badge. Transmission options comprised a heavy-duty Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with steering wheel paddle shifters. Body variants included the four-door saloon alongside the high-performance Maloo ute. Key improvements over the outgoing generation included a vastly upgraded interior with modern infotainment, torque vectoring, beefed-up AP Racing six-piston brakes, enhanced Magnetic Ride suspension, and the Driver Preference Dial. Production concluded in 2017 with the strictly limited GTS-R finale edition, marking the historic end of Australian-built rear-wheel-drive Vauxhalls.
