Vauxhall Omega I (B) gallery (1994–2003)

The Vauxhall Omega was introduced in 1994 to succeed the Vauxhall Carlton as the brand's flagship executive car, available in four-door saloon and estate body styles. Built on an updated evolution of the rear-wheel-drive GM V platform, the Omega offered spacious interiors, refined long-distance cruising, and advanced passive safety systems. The powertrain lineup featured four-cylinder 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre petrol engines, smooth naturally aspirated 2.5, 2.6, 3.0, and 3.2-litre 54-degree V6 units, as well as turbodiesels including 2.0 DTI, 2.2 DTI, and a BMW-sourced 2.5-litre inline-six. Transmissions included five-speed manuals and GM four- or five-speed automatics. In 1999, the model received a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift featuring sharp exterior styling, a restyled bonnet, upgraded cabin ergonomics, and standard stability control. Built in Germany and sold as a Vauxhall in the UK, it was also marketed globally as the Opel Omega and Cadillac Catera until production ended in 2003.
