A compact five-door crossover from the British brand Vauxhall, built on the General Motors global platform.
The Vauxhall Antara was introduced in 2006 as a dedicated contender in the fast-growing compact crossover and SUV market. Developed on the global GM Theta platform alongside the Opel Antara and Chevrolet Captiva, the Vauxhall version featured brand-specific exterior styling elements, including the signature V-grille, specific badging, and right-hand-drive cabin configuration tailored for the UK market. The body was offered exclusively as a five-door, five-seat SUV. Initial engine options included a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol unit, a 3.2-litre High Feature V6, and a 2.0-litre CDTi turbo-diesel sourced from VM Motori. Transmission choices ranged from five- and six-speed manuals to a five-speed automatic gearbox, with buyers able to select between front-wheel drive and an electronically controlled on-demand all-wheel-drive system. A major mid-life facelift arrived in late 2010 for the 2011 model year, bringing revised front and rear styling, upgraded interior materials, enhanced suspension tuning, and a thoroughly revised engine lineup featuring an updated 2.4 petrol and a fresh 2.2 CDTi diesel paired with new six-speed transmissions. Production of the Antara concluded in 2015.
