Unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show and entering production in early 2008, the Suzuki Splash (EX series) was a micro-van styled city car developed in partnership with Opel, which marketed its twin variant as the second-generation Opel Agila. Manufactured exclusively at the Esztergom plant in Hungary, the Splash was built on a shortened Suzuki Swift platform. Its tall-roof architecture provided high seating positions, ample headroom, and excellent outward visibility for navigating tight urban environments.

Powertrains encompassed a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine (65 to 68 hp), a 1.2-liter K12B four-cylinder gasoline engine (86 to 94 hp), and a 1.3-liter Fiat-derived DDiS turbodiesel engine. Transmissions consisted of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque-converter automatic for the 1.2-liter model. A 2012 mid-cycle facelift reshaped the front bumper, grille, and hood line, while refreshing rear bumper cuts and interior fabrics.
