The Ampera-e was the second Opel to carry the Ampera name, but it shared nothing with its predecessor: where the 2011 Ampera was a series hybrid, the 2017 Ampera-e is a full EV based on the Chevrolet Bolt. A 60 kWh battery gave up to 520 km on the NEDC cycle and the motor produced 204 hp. Deliveries were wound down soon after Opel passed to PSA.
