NIO EP9 I gallery (2016–2019)

The NIO EP9 track-focused hypercar was produced in limited numbers between 2016 and 2019 through a partnership between NextEV and the British engineering firm RML Group. Built around a high-rigidity carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, it utilizes lightweight composite body panels with active aerodynamic elements capable of generating up to 24,000 Newtons of downforce at 240 km/h. Drive power comes from four individual liquid-cooled electric motors positioned at each wheel, each generating 335 horsepower for a total system output of 1,360 horsepower and 1,480 Newton-meters of torque. Transmission duties are handled by four independent single-speed gearboxes enabling precise individual-wheel torque vectoring. Twin battery units mounted inside the side sills support rapid removal and swapping, providing an estimated driving range of 427 kilometers. The minimalist cockpit includes four digital screens, carbon-fiber racing bucket seats with multi-point harnesses, and a Formula E style steering wheel. The EP9 established notable electric lap records at circuit tracks including the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the Circuit of the Americas, with a total production run of 16 units.
