The first-generation NIO EC6 coupe crossover combines a sweeping fastback roofline with a large panoramic glass roof, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and battery swap technology.

The first-generation NIO EC6 mid-size coupe crossover SUV was manufactured from 2020 to 2023 based on NIO's first-generation vehicle architecture. Its sleek profile is crowned by a expansive 2.1-square-meter panoramic thermal-insulated glass roof. The vehicle came in two powertrain trims: the Sport trim featured dual permanent magnet motors producing a total of 435 horsepower, while the Performance trim paired a 218-horsepower front motor with a 326-horsepower rear induction motor for a combined output of 544 horsepower and 725 Newton-meters of torque. All-wheel drive capability was regulated by single-speed reduction gearboxes. Energy was stored in 70 kWh, 84 kWh, or 100 kWh battery packs with full compatibility for NIO Power Swap stations, delivering an NEDC driving range up to 615 kilometers. Inside, the cabin offered a digital instrument display, an 11.3-inch vertical central touchscreen, the NOMI AI companion, leather upholstery, and the NIO Pilot suite of safety technologies. The first generation was distributed primarily within China.
