About this generation

The second generation, which retained the style but received new turbo engines.

The R56 brought many technological updates, including new turbocharged engines developed in partnership with PSA. The design became slightly rounder, and the interior received improved trim materials. This generation expanded the popularity of MINI, offering buyers more comfort and efficiency without losing its spirited character.
