The R50/R53 was the first MINI under the BMW umbrella. The car was known for its go-kart handling and unique retro design, quickly becoming a style icon of the early 2000s. The R53 version with a supercharged engine offered outstanding dynamic performance for its class and became the starting point for the success of the new lineup.
