MG Marvel R I gallery (2021–present)

The MG Marvel R was introduced in 2021 as a purpose-built compact electric SUV, derived from the domestic Roewe Marvel R produced by SAIC Motor and rebadged under the MG moniker for European and other international markets. Built on SAIC's dedicated electric vehicle platform, it features a rigid steel-aluminum hybrid chassis with a MacPherson strut front suspension and an independent multi-link rear setup. The exterior design sports a sleek SUV silhouette with futuristic full-width LED lighting strips, active aerodynamic air intakes, and flush pop-out door handles. Powertrain offerings consist of two distinct layouts: a rear-wheel-drive configuration utilizing two electric motors mounted on the rear axle delivering 180 metric horsepower, and an all-wheel-drive Tri-Motor version adding an electric motor to the front axle for a total combined output of 288 horsepower. Uniquely for modern production EVs, the rear drive unit integrates a two-speed automatic transmission designed to enhance cruising efficiency and top-end acceleration. Power is supplied by a 70 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery providing over 400 kilometers of WLTP range. The cabin is highlighted by an expansive 19.4-inch portrait infotainment touchscreen. The Marvel R has been exported extensively to member states of the European Union, the Middle East, and select international territories.
