The modern Mercedes-Benz V-Class (chassis code W447, and long-wheelbase W448) debuted in early 2014, reviving the V-Class nameplate to succeed the Viano. Built on a rear-wheel-drive platform with optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the MPV is produced in three body lengths (Compact, Long, Extra-Long) alongside the Marco Polo camper van version.

The cabin mirrored Mercedes luxury sedans, featuring ambient lighting, executive rear captain chairs with heating and massage, and MBUX infotainment. Power comes from 2.1-liter and 2.0-liter OM654 turbodiesel engines paired with 7G-TRONIC or 9G-TRONIC automatic transmissions. Major facelifts in 2019 and 2023 introduced updated grilles, AIRMATIC suspension, and dual widescreen displays.
