First generation of the compact passenger van Mercedes-Benz T-Class (W420), launched in 2022 for families and active lifestyle enthusiasts.
The Mercedes-Benz T-Class compact passenger MPV (internal code W420) debuted in April 2022 as a premium family-oriented vehicle built on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi CMF-C/D architecture. Shared with the third-generation Renault Kangoo, the T-Class features distinct Mercedes-Benz styling cues, including a signature front grille, LED headlights, and an upgraded interior equipped with the MBUX infotainment system. It is offered in standard five-seat and extended long-wheelbase seven-seat configurations with dual sliding side doors.
Engine choices comprise a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine (producing 102 hp or 131 hp) and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel (ranging from 95 hp to 116 hp). Transmission options include a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (7G-DCT) driving the front wheels. Production takes place at the Maubeuge assembly plant in France.
