Powertrains utilize 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid technology across 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline/diesel units (GLS 450, GLS 400 d/450 d) and 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8s (GLS 580, Maybach GLS 600, AMG GLS 63 S producing 612 hp). All models feature 9G-TRONIC automatics, fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive, and AIRMATIC or optional E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension. A mid-cycle update arrived in 2023 with revised front grille slats and updated tail lights.
