Mercedes-Benz GLA III (H244/H248) gallery (2026–present)
Third generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLA compact crossover, built on the new MMA platform and replacing both the previous GLA (H247) and the electric EQA.
The third-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA was unveiled on 29 July 2026 and is built on the new MMA platform (Mercedes Modular Architecture), developed under an electric-first approach. The model replaces two cars at once: the previous-generation GLA crossover (H247) and the electric EQA. The body is noticeably longer and lower — the wheelbase grew by 61 mm to 2,790 mm, overall length increased by roughly 150 mm to 4.57 metres, and height dropped by 20 mm. The silhouette takes on a more coupe-like profile, fronted by the brand's illuminated Iconic Grille.
The powertrain range splits into two branches with separate factory codes. The fully electric versions (internal code H244) use an 800-volt architecture and a battery of around 85 kWh, with a claimed range of over 400 miles; they go on sale from late 2026. The petrol versions with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system (internal code H248) pair a new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with an electrified 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and arrive in early 2027. Drive is front-wheel or 4MATIC all-wheel.
