First generation of the flagship full-size electric SUV Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV (X296), offering three-row seating and an ultra-luxury Maybach edition.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV (chassis code X296) debuted in April 2022 as the full-size SUV sibling to the EQS sedan. Sharing the 3,210 mm EVA2 platform wheelbase, the SUV adds 20 cm of height, allowing an optional three-row, seven-passenger interior layout. AIRMATIC air suspension with adaptive damping and rear-axle steering come standard.
Powertrains include the single-motor EQS 450+ and dual-motor 4MATIC variants: EQS 450 4MATIC, EQS 500 4MATIC, and EQS 580 4MATIC (544 hp). The line expanded in 2023 with the ultra-luxurious 658-hp Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV featuring first-class rear reclining seats and executive consoles. Battery capacities up to 118 kWh support a range of up to 660 km.
