The first generation McLaren McL 6GT is an analog-focused mid-engine supercar unveiled during Monterey Car Week. Built around a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque structure, the vehicle serves as a modern reinterpretation of the iconic M6GT road car project envisioned by founder Bruce McLaren in the late 1960s based on the M6A Can-Am race car. It features a bespoke two-door coupe body with retro-inspired styling, functional aerodynamic elements, and a driver-centric cockpit layout.

The powertrain consists of a mid-mounted gasoline V8 engine paired with a traditional six-speed manual transmission with three pedals, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels. McLaren has engineered the McL 6GT as a dedicated driver's car connecting the modern lineup with the company's early racing heritage. Serial production is scheduled to commence in 2028, with a strictly limited production run of approximately 500 units worldwide.
