Maserati 3200GT I (AM338) gallery (1998–2002)

The Maserati 3200 GT (internal factory designation AM338) was produced between 1998 and 2002, representing the very first modern automobile developed under Ferrari ownership. Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, the 3200 GT became immediately recognized for its sleek proportions and groundbreaking boomerang-shaped LED taillights, making it the first series production car in the world to utilize LED rear lighting technology. Underneath the sculpted steel bodywork, the coupe was powered by an evolution of Maserati's 3.2-liter twin-turbocharged 32-valve V8 engine (AM 585), which generated 370 hp and 491 Nm of torque. Customers could select between a Getrag 6-speed manual transmission or the 3200 GT Automatica equipped with a 4-speed electronic automatic transmission from BTR. In 2001, the sport-focused Assetto Corsa handling pack was introduced with lower ride height, stiffer springs, upgraded anti-roll bars, and Michelin semi-slick tires. The model was sold across Europe and various global markets, though never exported to the US.
