The updated Mahindra Thar OG represents an extensive overhaul of the iconic three-door body-on-frame SUV, incorporating key technical innovations from the extended Thar Roxx architecture. The vehicle features a reinforced chassis structure with enhanced torsional rigidity, a 60 mm wider track, and a revised suspension setup with recalibrated dampers. An electric power steering system replaces the previous hydraulic mechanism, while ground clearance has been raised to an impressive 232 mm for superior all-terrain capability.

The powertrain lineup receives significant performance updates across key engines. Output of the 2.2-litre mHawk turbodiesel climbs by 20 hp to 150 hp, while the 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine is tuned up to 160 hp. The entry-level 1.5-litre diesel unit remains available in the range. Four-wheel-drive variants benefit from an electronic rear locking differential and an expanded suite of multi-terrain driving modes.

Visual updates include an all-new five-slot front grille, full-LED headlights flanked by signature C-shaped daytime running lights, wing-mounted square fog lights, and redesigned taillights adopted from the five-door Roxx. High-spec trims also feature 19-inch alloy wheels alongside new body color options, reinforcing the Thar's blend of modern tech and classic rugged styling.
