Lotus 2-Eleven I (Type 123) gallery (2007–2011)
The Lotus 2-Eleven is an extreme lightweight track-focused speedster built on the bonded aluminum platform of the Exige S.
The Lotus 2-Eleven was unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show and remained in limited production until 2011 at the Hethel factory. Built around the renowned bonded and extruded aluminum tub chassis shared with the Exige S, the 2-Eleven incorporated a full FIA-compliant roll cage structure directly into the chassis. The exterior bodywork was manufactured from lightweight composite panels and configured as a pure doorless, roofless speedster without a traditional glass windscreen, utilizing only a modest aero deflector. Power was provided by a mid-mounted, supercharged 1.8-liter Toyota 2ZZ-GE inline-four engine with variable valve timing and a Roots-type supercharger, generating 252 hp in standard road-legal trim and up to 255 hp in track specification. The powertrain was paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels via an open or optional limited-slip differential. Suspension featured fully adjustable Ohlins dampers with Eibach springs, accompanied by high-performance AP Racing brake calipers and lightweight forged alloy wheels. The model was offered in two main configurations: a street-legal Road version equipped with lights, catalytic converter, and horn, and an ultra-focused Track version featuring enhanced aerodynamic wings and competition equipment across European, North American, and Asian markets.
