Lincoln MKZ I (CD338) gallery (2006–2012)

The first-generation Lincoln MKZ arrived for the 2007 model year as an immediate evolution and rebranding of the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. Built on the front-wheel-drive Ford CD3 platform shared with the Ford Fusion, the MKZ brought key mechanical upgrades, most notably replacing the Zephyr's 3.0-liter engine with a more potent 3.5-liter Duratec 35 V6 producing 263 hp paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also introduced an optional intelligent all-wheel-drive system. A major mid-cycle refresh arrived for the 2010 model year, bringing significant exterior restyling inspired by the MKS full-size sedan, including Lincoln's signature split-wing waterfall grille, redesigned rear lighting, and an upgraded interior with improved materials and sound deadening. For the 2011 model year, Lincoln introduced the MKZ Hybrid, pairing a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), marking Lincoln's first-ever production hybrid vehicle. The first-generation MKZ was manufactured at Ford's Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico for North American and select export markets.
