Lincoln MKX II (U540) gallery (2015–2018)

The second-generation Lincoln MKX debuted in 2015 for the 2016 model year, transitioning to Ford's global CD4 mid-size platform featuring an integral-link independent rear suspension. Compared to its predecessor, this generation offered substantially greater torsional rigidity, improved interior packaging, and a far higher degree of chassis refinement and sound isolation. The model introduced Lincoln Drive Control with continuously controlled damping, high-end 19-speaker Revel Ultima audio, push-button transmission controls on the center stack, and advanced driver assistance suites. The standard engine remained a naturally aspirated 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 producing 303 hp, while a brand-new 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost Nano V6 generating 335 hp was offered as the range-topping performance option. Both engines were mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with standard front-wheel drive and available intelligent all-wheel drive. The second-generation MKX was sold in North America, China, and the Middle East until late 2018, when a mid-cycle styling overhaul and powertrain update prompted Lincoln to drop the MKX moniker in favor of the Lincoln Nautilus nameplate.
