The X-Type was based on the Ford Mondeo platform, offering classic Jaguar design at a more accessible price point. The model featured all-wheel drive, which was a rarity in its class. Despite its technical kinship with Ford, the car retained the brand's recognizable style and a premium interior with genuine wood and leather.
