The first generation of the mid-size SUV known in export markets as the Isuzu Rodeo and Opel Frontera.

The first generation Isuzu Wizard debuted in the early nineties as the five-door counterpart to the Isuzu MU. The vehicle was built on a ladder-frame chassis with a part-time four-wheel-drive system. The engine lineup included inline-four petrol engines, V6 powerplants, and efficient diesel variants mated to manual and automatic transmissions. Across different global markets, the vehicle was marketed under the Isuzu, Opel, Vauxhall, and Holden brands, gaining popularity for its durability and off-road capability. Throughout its production run, the model underwent several interior and exterior updates affecting the dashboard design and front grille. The primary target markets included Japan, North America, Europe, and various Asian countries.
