The second generation Isuzu Rodeo was released in 1998 for the 1998 model year in North America, retaining a robust body-on-frame architecture while introducing completely refreshed styling. Under the hood, a revised 3.2-liter V6 engine delivered significantly improved performance, later supplemented in 2004 by a larger 3.5-liter V6 engine outputting 250 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations were available, mated to either manual or automatic transmissions. In 2001, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh encompassing updated instrumentation, front fascia styling tweaks, and enhanced safety monitoring systems. The three-door variant was rebranded as the Rodeo Sport for the 2001 model year. Production of the second-generation Rodeo officially concluded in 2004, marking the end of Isuzu's mainstream light truck presence in North America.
