Isuzu i-280 I gallery (2006–2006)

The Isuzu i-280 compact pickup truck was created based on American General Motors trucks and was offered exclusively with an extended cab.

The Isuzu i-280 model appeared on the market in 2006 as part of a partnership agreement between the Japanese manufacturer and General Motors corporation, being a rebranded version of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups. The vehicle was produced in an Extended Cab body style and was based on a durable ladder-frame platform with an independent front suspension and a dependent rear axle on leaf springs. A reliable 2.8-liter inline-four gasoline engine was used as the power plant, developing 175 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Buyers were offered a choice between a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission transmitting traction to the rear wheels. The pickup was developed primarily for the North American market, offering practical solutions for work and leisure, but due to stiff competition, it stayed on the assembly line for only one model year, giving way to more powerful i-290 and i-370 modifications.
