The first-generation Hyundai Kona (OS platform) premiered in June 2017. Built on Hyundai's B-SUV architecture, the Kona featured standout styling defined by composite split headlights, protective body cladding armor, and contrasting roof color combinations. AWD models received an independent multi-link rear suspension.
Powertrains spanned 1.0-liter T-GDI, 2.0-liter Nu, 1.6-liter T-GDI petrol engines, 1.6-liter CRDi diesels, a self-charging Hybrid (141 hp), and the all-electric Kona Electric offering up to a 64 kWh battery with a 484 km WLTP range. A 2020 facelift refined front LED lighting signatures and added a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster.
