Hyundai ix35 II (NU) gallery (2017–2021)
The second-generation Hyundai ix35 (NU) was produced from 2017 to 2021 exclusively for China as a rugged budget-friendly SUV.
The second-generation Hyundai ix35 (NU platform) premiered at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2017. Developed by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture specifically for the Chinese domestic market, the NU was designed as a rugged, angular alternative positioned alongside the global Tucson TL. It featured prominent vertical grille slats and robust wheel arch cladding.
Engines featured a 2.0-liter Nu naturally aspirated four-cylinder (160 hp) and a 1.4-liter Kappa T-GDI turbo engine (140 hp). Transmissions included 6-speed manuals, 6-speed automatics, and 7-speed dual-clutch units. A 2020 refresh introduced a vertical 10.4-inch portrait touchscreen display.
