The second-generation Hyundai i20 (GB platform) was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Designed in Rüsselsheim, Germany under the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 theme, the car was distinguished by glossy black C-pillars creating a floating roof visual effect. Alongside the core five-door hatchback, Hyundai introduced a distinct three-door Coupe with flared rear arches and an i20 Active crossover trim with raised suspension.

Engine choices included 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engines, complemented in 2015 by a 1.0-liter turbocharged T-GDI three-cylinder engine delivering up to 120 hp. Diesel variants utilized 1.1-liter and 1.4-liter CRDi units. A 2018 facelift refreshed the front cascading grille, tailgate layout, and updated infotainment with smartphone connectivity.
