The second-generation Hyundai i10 chassis IA was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013. Designed at Hyundai's European design center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the new model was 80 mm longer and 65 mm wider than its predecessor, offering superior interior space and luggage capacity. A long-wheelbase variant named Grand i10 and a subcompact notchback sedan called Xcent were produced for emerging markets.

Powertrains included a 1.0-liter three-cylinder and a 1.25-liter Kappa four-cylinder gasoline engine, with select regions receiving LPG bi-fuel options and a 1.1-liter CRDi diesel engine. A 2016 facelift introduced a refreshed cascading front grille, integrated round LED daytime running lights, and an updated touchscreen infotainment system supporting smartphone integration.
