The third-generation Honda Pilot (YF5/YF6) premiered in February 2015, shedding its former boxy shape for a modern aerodynamic silhouette. Built on an advanced platform, it shed nearly 130 kg while gaining LED illumination, panoramic glass roofs, and refined interior appointments.
It was powered by a direct-injected 3.5-liter Earth Dreams V6 (J35Y6, 280 hp) paired with a 6-speed or 9-speed automatic transmission. The all-new i-VTM4 AWD system added dynamic torque-vectoring across the rear axle. A 2018 facelift revised front bumpers, standard Honda Sensing equipment, and recalibrated 9-speed shift response.
