The second-generation Honda Fit (GE/GP) launched in October 2007. It expanded wheelbase and track widths while featuring thinner A-pillars and larger windshield area for enhanced road vision. It won the Japan Car of the Year award in 2007.

Engines included 1.3-liter (100 hp) and 1.5-liter (120 hp) i-VTEC units. In 2010, the Fit Hybrid (GP1) was introduced with an IMA system, along with a limited-production Fit EV electric model. A 2010 update refined LED tail lamps and front styling.
