Holden Colorado I (RC) photos

The first-generation Holden Colorado (RC series) was introduced in mid-2008 as the direct replacement for the longstanding Holden Rodeo nameplate after GM ended its brand-sharing arrangement with Isuzu. Built at the Rayong manufacturing plant in Thailand, the RC Colorado utilised the rugged Isuzu D-Max ladder-frame chassis. It was offered across three cab configurations: Single Cab, Space Cab, and Crew Cab, available either as a bare cab-chassis or with a conventional style-side well-body tub. Powertrain options consisted of an entry-level 2.4-litre petrol four-cylinder, an Australian-built 3.6-litre Alloytec petrol V6 producing 157 kW, and a robust 3.0-litre Isuzu-sourced common-rail turbo-diesel developing 120 kW and 360 Nm. Transmission choices were a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic, paired with either rear-wheel drive or a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive system with low-range transfer gearing. The RC series established strong utility credentials in Australia and New Zealand before being phased out in 2012.
