Holden Captiva I (CG) photos

The first-generation Holden Captiva (CG series) arrived in late 2006 to serve as Holden's primary crossover offering in Australia and New Zealand. Built on General Motors' Theta platform, the vehicle was sourced from GM Daewoo and sold in two distinct body configurations: the five-seat Captiva 5 (based on the Opel Antara) and the longer seven-seat Captiva 7 (based on the Chevrolet Captiva/Daewoo Winstorm). Engine choices initially included an Australian-built 3.2-litre Alloytec V6 and a 2.0-litre VM Motori common-rail turbo-diesel, complemented by an entry-level 2.4-litre petrol four-cylinder. Gearboxes ranged from five-speed manuals to five- and six-speed automatic transmissions in front-wheel drive and on-demand all-wheel drive configurations. A major Series II update in 2011 brought a fresh front fascia, updated electronics, and improved powertrains including a 3.0-litre SIDI direct-injection V6 and a refined 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. In late 2015, the lineup was consolidated into a single unified Captiva body shape before being fully discontinued in 2018.
