Holden Adventura I (VY/VZ) gallery (2003–2006)

The Holden Adventra was manufactured from 2003 until 2006 as an all-wheel-drive crossover wagon based on the VY II and subsequent VZ series Commodore station wagon architecture. To tackle gravel roads and light off-road terrain, the Adventra featured a raised ride height, heavy-duty underbody protection, reinforced front and rear independent suspension systems, and rugged protective exterior body cladding. It was engineered with Holden proprietary Cross Trac permanent all-wheel-drive system, utilizing a planetary center differential with a rear-biased torque split and four-wheel electronic traction control. At launch under the VY II series, the Adventra was available exclusively with a 5.7-liter Gen III LS1 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The VZ update in late 2004 introduced the 3.6-liter High Output Alloytec V6 engine producing 190 kW mated to a 5-speed GM 5L40-E automatic, offered in SX6, CX6, and LX6 trims, while the LX8 retained the V8 engine. The vehicle was sold in Australia and New Zealand.
