The first-generation Haval F5 was a sport-styled compact crossover SUV produced by Great Wall Motor from 2018 to 2020 as the pioneering model of the youth-focused F series.
The first generation Haval F5 compact crossover SUV was launched in 2018 as the inaugural model of Haval youth-oriented F-Series lineup, remaining in production through 2020. Evolved from the Haval Concept R show car, the F5 showcased a fastback-inspired roofline and an aggressive front mesh grille. Built upon the platform shared with the second-generation Haval H6 and WEY VV5, the crossover features a 2,680 mm wheelbase and all-wheel independent suspension in a front-wheel-drive configuration. Under the hood, the primary engine was a 1.5-liter GW4B15A turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit outputting 169 horsepower and 285 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. A 2.0-liter GW4C20NT turbo petrol engine was also made available in select configurations. Interior highlights included a flat-bottom steering wheel, a fully digital gauge panel, a central touchscreen supporting connected vehicle services, and sporty leatherette seating. The F5 was sold in China and international markets until it was succeeded by the Haval Chitu.
