The first generation Haval Cool Dog compact crossover SUV launched in 2022, previewed initially by the X Dog concept and exported to international markets under the Haval H3 nameplate. Constructed on Great Wall Motor LEMON modular platform (B30 architecture) with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the vehicle features a 2,710 mm wheelbase. The design emphasizes a boxy off-road aesthetic with round LED headlights, rugged plastic body cladding, and a raised tailgate contour mimicking an exterior spare tire housing. Engine choices include a 1.5-liter GW4G15F turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 143 hp or 184 hp, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Higher trims offer a 2.0-liter GW4C20B turbo engine, along with a plug-in hybrid PHEV option with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The cabin signature feature is an 18-speaker JVC sound system with headrest-embedded speakers and seat tactile transducers that sync audio with seat vibrations. Additional equipment includes dual 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, and a suite of active safety technologies. The Cool Dog is sold in China and international markets.
