Debuting in 2022, the Great Wall Shanhai Cannon is a flagship luxury pickup truck featuring powerful V6 and hybrid powertrains, advanced all-wheel drive, and a high-end passenger cabin experience.
Unveiled in late 2022, the Great Wall Shanhai Cannon represents the premium pinnacle of the manufacturer's pickup truck family. Utilizing the high-strength body-on-frame platform from the Tank 500 luxury SUV, the Shanhai Cannon offers exceptional structural rigidity and off-road chassis capability. Engine choices feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged GW6Z30 V6 gasoline engine delivering 354 horsepower with a 48V mild-hybrid system, a 2.4-liter GW4D24 turbodiesel producing 186 horsepower, and plug-in hybrid PHEV variants combining a 2.0-liter turbo engine with electric motor assistance. All engines are coupled with a self-developed nine-speed automatic transmission and a torque-on-demand full-time four-wheel-drive system equipped with front, center, and rear differential locks. A key innovation of the truck is its split tailgate design that can be opened either conventionally downwards or side-by-side like barn doors. The cabin rivals luxury SUVs with Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated massage seating, a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, HUD glass projection, and Level 2 autonomous driving aids. Globally it is distributed as the GWM Cannon Alpha and Poer Sahar.
