The first generation of the Volga K40 crossover made its public debut in 2024. Constructed on a modern unibody platform with a transverse engine orientation, the model is offered exclusively as a five-door SUV. It measures approximately 4699 mm in length with a 2795 mm wheelbase, providing ample legroom for rear passengers along with a generous luggage compartment.

The mechanical package comprises a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine generating 188 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission powering the front axle. The chassis incorporates four-wheel disc brakes and fully independent suspension, while an all-wheel-drive configuration is absent from the lineup.

The original cabin design featured a portrait-style 13.2-inch infotainment screen, dark blue upholstery, and a minimalistic center console almost devoid of physical switches. Subsequent production refinements brought a redesigned dashboard and central console layout featuring four dedicated physical buttons, revised textures with all-black seat upholstery, and native integration of local VK multimedia and online services.
