About this generation

The second-generation US Fusion on the CD4 platform delivered striking styling, V6 Sport, and Energi plug-in models.

Debuting for 2013, the second-generation Fusion was built on the global CD4 architecture, sharing its design with the European Mondeo Mk5. Styled by Chris Hamilton, its sweeping roofline and bold hexagonal grille echoed exotic sports cars. The interior featured SYNC infotainment and active lane-keeping systems.

Engines included 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, and 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinders, topped by the 325-hp 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 Sport with AWD. Hybrid and Fusion Energi Plug-in Hybrid models completed the lineup before production ended in 2020.
