The full-size electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup has been in production since 2021 as an innovative all-wheel-drive version of the iconic F-Series truck.
The full-size Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup (factory code P702) was presented in May 2021, with series production starting in April 2022 at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Built on a reinforced steel frame derived from the 14th-generation F-150 truck architecture, it serves as Ford's flagship battery-electric pickup truck. Distinctive exterior features include signature full-width front and rear LED light bars, an independent rear suspension setup engineered for improved ride quality and towing stability, and a spacious 400-liter power-operated front trunk (Mega Power Frunk) capable of supporting up to 181 kg of cargo.
The F-150 Lightning comes standard with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, offered with either Standard Range (98 kWh usable) or Extended Range (131 kWh usable) battery packs generating between 452 hp and 588 hp along with 1,050 Nm of instant torque. The truck boasts a maximum towing capacity of up to 10,000 lbs (4.5 tonnes) and features the Pro Power Onboard bidirectional charging system (supplying up to 9.6 kW), capable of powering heavy-duty jobsite tools or providing emergency home electrical power. Offered exclusively in a four-door SuperCrew cab configuration, trim levels include Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum.
