The Ford B-MAX compact multi-purpose vehicle (factory code B232) was produced at Ford's Craiova assembly plant in Romania from 2012 to 2017. Built on the global B-car platform shared with the Fiesta Mk6, it was tailored specifically for European urban families seeking practical daily transportation. The MPV's signature innovation was the Easy Access Door System, which combined conventional front doors with rear sliding doors and integrated the central B-pillars directly into the door structures themselves. When both doors on a side were opened, it created an unobstructed 1.5-meter wide aperture for effortless entry, exit, and loading of bulky items.

Engine choices included the 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder turbo (85–125 hp), 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline units, along with 1.5-liter and 1.6-liter TDCi turbodiesels. Transmission options comprised a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic. Offered solely as a five-door MPV in Ambiente, Trend, and Titanium trims, the B-MAX achieved a top 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating despite the absence of fixed central B-pillars.
