Updated 2027 Ram Heavy Duty lineup with an available Hemi Payload Upgrade Package, revised chassis options, and expanded standalone equipment.
The 2027 Ram Heavy Duty lineup introduces functional updates aimed at maximizing payload ratings and towing capabilities across the 2500 and 3500 series. A central addition for the Ram 2500 equipped with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is the Payload Upgrade Package, which raises maximum payload capacity up to 4,580 pounds and maximum towing up to 17,740 pounds. To achieve this, the package swaps the 2500 five-link coil rear suspension for the heavier-duty frame and leaf springs sourced from the 3500, accompanied by a calibrated limited-slip rear differential.
The lineup maintains its diverse body options, spanning Regular Cab configurations with an 8-foot bed to Crew Cab and Mega Cab variants with a 6.3-foot bed in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Selected Ram 3500 regular and crew cab trims with the 6.4-liter Hemi also benefit from a 400-pound payload and towing increase, achieving maximum towing of 11,440 pounds.
Interior appointments range from base analog instrumentation with a 5.0-inch display to a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 14.5-inch central infotainment screen, and a 10.25-inch front passenger display. Several popular features, including the Warn winch, sport performance hood, and RamBox cargo system, have also been repositioned as standalone options.
