Daewoo Tico I gallery (1991–2001)

The subcompact city hatchback Daewoo Tico, based on the Suzuki Alto, was produced from 1991 to 2001 and became one of the brand's most mass-market and affordable models in many countries.

Daewoo Tico is a compact A-segment city car produced by the South Korean manufacturer from 1991 to 2001. The model was developed based on the third-generation Japanese Suzuki Alto hatchback and adapted to meet the demands of emerging markets. The vehicle featured extremely modest dimensions, a lightweight body, and excellent maneuverability in heavy urban traffic. It was powered by a 0.8-litre three-cylinder gasoline engine generating between 41 and 48 horsepower, depending on the modification and emission system equipment. The transmission lineup included a five-speed manual gearbox or a three-speed automatic. Despite its small footprint, the car offered a five-door hatchback body style, making it practical for daily commutes of small families. The primary markets for the model included South Korea, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Uzbekistan, where local assembly was established at the UzDaewooAuto joint venture. Over its production span, the Tico underwent several minor cosmetic updates to refine the interior and improve engine emission standards before making way for its more modern successor, the Matiz.
