The Daewoo Novus heavy commercial lineup was introduced in 1995 and became a major milestone in the development of the South Korean brand's truck division, which later came under Tata's control. The model range includes chassis of various lengths, flatbed trucks, dump trucks, tractor units, and various specialized superstructures for construction and municipal applications. Structurally, the vehicle is based on a robust ladder-type frame platform designed for intensive operation in harsh road conditions. The powertrain consists of powerful turbocharged and intercooled inline diesel engines paired with mechanical or automatic transmissions from leading global manufacturers. The cab has undergone multiple upgrades throughout its lifecycle, featuring an updated aerodynamic exterior, improved sound insulation, modern climate control systems, ergonomic air-suspended seats, and sleeper berths for long-haul drivers. The vehicle is exported to markets in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe, where it is valued for its durability, load capacity, and low cost of ownership.
