About this generation
The second-generation 2027 Chevrolet Bolt returns with a 65-kWh LFP battery pack and a 210-hp front-mounted electric motor.
The second-generation Chevrolet Bolt arrives for the 2027 model year, representing an updated reincarnation of the previous Bolt EUV platform tailored for high affordability. It retains a subcompact crossover-hatchback body style while integrating modern electric vehicle hardware. The cornerstone of the technical update is a new 65-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which reduces battery production costs while delivering an EPA-estimated driving range of approximately 262 miles.
Propulsion is provided by a single front-mounted electric motor generating 210 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the first-generation model, the 2027 Bolt transitions to durable LFP chemistry, gains updated interior infotainment software, and offers General Motors' Super Cruise hands-free highway driving assistance system equipped with automated lane-change capability. Production is based at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City as part of a targeted, limited production run.
