The first generation Changan Raeton flagship mid-size sedan debuted in 2012, offering customers a spacious cabin, elegant Italian design, and a generous list of standard equipment.
The Changan Raeton mid-size flagship sedan carrying internal designation CD101 made its official public premiere in 2012 and went on sale in early 2013. Designed at the Changan Italian R&D center in Turin, the vehicle featured traditional executive proportions with clean side profile lines, a broad chrome grille, and refined light units. Built on a front-wheel-drive platform with MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear suspension setup, the Raeton measures 4920 mm in length with a 2810 mm wheelbase, providing superior legroom for rear occupants. Initial powertrain offerings included a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Blue Core four-cylinder engine developing 158 horsepower and a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine generating 177 horsepower, while a 1.5-liter turbo unit was added in subsequent updates. Transmissions comprised a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission supplied by Aisin. Inside, the cabin featured plush leather upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment display, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power sunroof, electric seat adjustment, and extensive active safety tech including adaptive cruise control. The Raeton was produced until 2019, targeting executive buyers in China as well as export destinations across the Middle East, South America, and Eastern Europe.
