First presented at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2018 and launched commercially in early 2019, the Changan CS85 Coupe debuted as the brand's first mid-size coupe-crossover. Characterized by its sweeping fastback silhouette, prominent front grille, and quad exhaust tips, the model targeted style-conscious buyers. Built on a front-wheel-drive platform with fully independent suspension, it balanced sporty road presence with compliant ride quality. Engine options included a 1.5-liter Blue Core turbocharged engine generating 178 horsepower paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, as well as a top-tier 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 233 horsepower mated to an eight-speed Aisin automatic. The interior is finished with contrast-stitched leatherette, featuring a dual digital display setup, a touch-sensitive climate control panel, and ambient lighting. Safety features comprise adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system.
