Changan CS35 I gallery (2012–2022)

Launched in 2012, the first-generation Changan CS35 marked the automaker's initial entry into the subcompact crossover segment. Stylistically shaped by Changan's European design studio in Turin, Italy, the model presented clean body proportions and a contemporary front fascia. The chassis used a front-wheel-drive architecture with MacPherson front suspension and a torsion beam setup at the rear. The primary engine was a 1.6-liter Blue Core naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit outputting 113 horsepower, joined later by a 1.5-liter turbocharged option. Power was routed through either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic sourced from Aisin. Inside, the cabin offered an intuitive dashboard layout, fabric or leatherette upholstery, air conditioning, and a multi-function steering wheel. Safety equipment featured front airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, and rear sensors. The CS35 achieved strong commercial success across South America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, remaining in active production until 2022.
